The calculation, explained
This model assigns 0 GPA to 0 WAM and 7 GPA to 100 WAM. A 0.1 GPA increase adds about 1.43 estimated WAM points. These are changes within the linear model rather than guaranteed changes in official marks.
Worked examples

5.6 ÷ 7 = 0.8. Multiplying 0.8 by 100 gives an estimated WAM of 80.00.
6 ÷ 7 × 100 = 85.714285… . The calculator displays 85.71 after rounding.
4.2 ÷ 7 × 100 gives 60.00. This describes the linear estimate rather than an official pass classification.
